Trevor was once again a guide on a ZEST for BIRDS pelagic trip today. It was a particularly rough day at sea today with very large swells so the boat was moving around quite a bit. Nevertheless, the really bad weather had already passed and we were only seeing the back of it. Fortunately, besides all the usual suspecects, these conditions also turned up a number of good birds including a Southern Royal and a Wandering Albatross, a Southern Fulmar, a white morph Southern Giant Petrel and an out of season Great-winged Petrel, so the bumpy conditions were certainly worth it. |
