We were up early this morning and drove through to Soetwater to see if we could find the Yellow Wagtail that had been hanging around there recently. We found the bird almost instantly and, although it was fairly overcast at the time, we were still able to get a few record shots of the bird, another good one for the challenge. The bird has had a pattern over the last few weeks of spending some time down on the beach and then disappearing off into the dunes for 10-15 minutes before suddenly reappearing on the beach again, so it was good that it showed itself as soon as we got there and that we didn't have to wait too long for it...

At about 08h00, we left Soetwater and then made our way over the mountain to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens where we would be meeting the rest of the family at 10h00 for a brunch at the restaurant there. We had a little bit of time to walk around the gardens, but didn't really get to find anything too unexpected. There were lots of sunbirds and sugarbirds all being extremely active which made getting photos of them quite difficult and it was also good to get a slightly improved photo of Forest Canary for the challenge. Eventually, it was time to head down to the restaurant to meet the rest of the family and, after a long leisurely brunch, we eventually headed off back home to go and relax.
