With news breaking of a Woolly-necked Stork, a first record for the Western Cape, having been located at Somerset College just outside Somerset West, it was obvious that we were going to have to chase it both for our provincial lists and the challenge list. A quick mid-week dash out there netted us the bird quite easily as it fed on the school sports fields in amongst Cattle Egrets and Hadeda Ibises and then it was time to head back and get on with the more mundane parts of our life i.e. work!
