A slightly later rise this morning saw us hanging around the lodge until after breakfast. We then drove back up into the mountains and, although the weather had improved somewhat since yesterday, it was still very cold, so the activity was limited. The most exciting part of this drive was getting a calling Striped Flufftail although we were unable to see it. We also finally managed to see the lodge's namesake - Klipspringer. Then it was back down to the cultivated lands where we got much the same as yesterday although we did add Large Grey (Egyptian) Mongoose (and I managed to get one terrible photo before it disappeared, but it will have to do as I have never photographed it before!). A Malachite Kingfisher sitting on a fence in the middle of the farmlands staring hopefully down into a rain puddle also made for an interesting sighting! Back at the lodge, it was time for lunch (and the only reptile of the weekend - a Southern Rock Agama) and then it was time to pack up, greet our gracious hosts and head on homewards.

Thanks again to Gerhard and Elmarie for hosting us on this weekend and for their very kind hospitality. We certainly hope to visit again in the hopefully not too distant future, especially with Gerhard telling us of the local Honey Badgers and Leopards in the area!
