Our last morning was, once again, a fairly relaxed and late one and, after packing everything back into the car, we eventually left and headed out on the road to Leeu-Gamka. Most birding had already quietened down, but there were still a number of Karoo Long-billed Larks in full display. The highlight of this little drive was finding a Common Tent Tortoise crossing the road which was a photographic lifer for me and a full lifer for Margaret. A quick stop off at a small river crossing had lots of dragonfly activity and brought our total to 12 species for the weekend. This is not a great total, but considering that we were not out actively looking for dragonflies, it is not too bad. By 11h00, we were on our way back home after another great weekend.
