09 april 2011 - cape pelagic trip

...back to blogs

Trevor was once again a guide on a ZEST for BIRDS pelagic trip today. Conditions were a little blustery although there was not much of a swell. A single trawler was located out in the deep and had huge numbers of birds in its wake. Despite spending several hours scanning through what was there, nothing out of the ordinary could be found. It was still great to see so many birds around (including one Pomarine Skua in full breeding plumage) and a small pod of Long-beaked Common Dolphins was also a welcome distraction for a short while.
